IBPS Clerk : The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the online exam for the recruitment of candidates in the clerical cadre once a year. IBPS Clerk Exam Language
IBPS Clerk Prelims & Mains Exam will now onwards be conducted in 13 regional languages along with English & Hindi. IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria : Age Limit, Qualification & Nationality :-
Educational Qualification (As on 21.07.2024):
The candidate must acquire a minimum bachelor’s degree with adequate computer literacy.
A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
IBPS Clerk Age Limit (As on 01.07.2024):
Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 28 years
The minimum age requirement for IBPS Clerk is 20 years and the maximum is 28 years (as on 01 July 2024)
- 20 years is the minimum age mandatory, to be eligible for the IBPS Clerk recruitment
- The applicant’s age should not cross the 28 years barrier.
- A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1996 and not later than 01.07.2004 (both dates inclusive)

Ex-Servicemen(EXMN): Only candidates will be treated as Ex-Servicemen who fulfill the revised definition according to the government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs dated 27.10.1986.
Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Ex-Servicemen while serving in the armed forces were disabled are treated as Disabled Ex-Servicemen.
Dependent on Servicemen Killed in Action(DXS): Servicemen who are killed in the following operations like War/Border operations/Serving with peacekeeping machines abroad etc. For the purpose of concession of reservation for the dependents on servicemen would include wise, son, daughter, etc.
IBPS Clerk Educational Qualification Requirements (As on 21.07.2024):
- Candidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India.
- Candidates should certainly have sufficient computer efficiency with a diploma course or degree in this affair.
- Candidates must know to speak, read and write the language of the particular state that they are applying for.
- Ex-Servicemen lacking these criteria should be matriculate and have achieved an Army Special certificate or equivalent Education or Navy/Air force certificate, not less than 15 years of service in the Union of Armed Forces as of 21.July 2024.
- Candidates have prior knowledge about the Calculation of Percentage as follows: The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks multiplied by 100. The fraction of percentage calculated will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.
Computer Literacy/Knowledge
- Computer Literacy: Aspirants must have enough knowledge of Computer Systems. They must have a valid certificate/degree/diploma in Computer Operations or Information Technology.
- Candidates must be well versed with the operating and working knowledge of computer systems.
IBPS Clerk Nationality
To fulfill the IBPS clerk eligibility for the recruitment, the aspirants need to fulfil the below-mentioned nationality requirements.
The candidates need to be an:
- An Indian citizen or,
- A subject of Bhutan or Nepal or,
- A Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before 1st January 1962 to settle in the country permanently or,
- An Indian person who has come over from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zaire, or Vietnam to settle in India on a permanent note.
- The point to note is, the Indian Government must issue the particular candidate with an eligibility certificate.
Reservation for Persons having Physical Infirmities
Section 34 i.e. “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016” affirms that persons having physical infirmities are worthy of Reservation. Below mentioned are the reserved categories of disabilities for this act.
- Blindness and low vision;
- Deaf and hard of hearing;
- Locomotor issues include cerebral palsy, acid attack victims, leprosy cured, muscular dystrophy, and dwarfism.
- Autism, specific learning disability, intellectual disability, and mental illness.
- Multiple disabilities from amid persons under clause (a) to (d) involving deaf-blindness in the posts recognized for each disability.
IBPS Clerk: Guidelines for Persons With Disabilities using a Scribe
(i) Following are the Guidelines for Persons With Disabilities using a Scribe-
The visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is adversely affected permanently for any medical reason can use their own scribe at their cost during the online examination. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply:
- The candidate will have to arrange his / her scribe at his/her own cost.
- The scribe may be from any academic stream.
- Both the candidate as well as scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe mentioned above. Further, in case it later transpired that he/she did not fulfil any laid down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the CWE (Common Written Examination).
- Those candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes or otherwise advised for every hour of the examination.
- The scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate for the examination (CWE (Common Written Examination) PO/MT (Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees)-VI). If violation of the above is detected at any stage of the process, candidature for CWE of both the candidate and the scribe will be cancelled. Candidates eligible for and who wish to use the services of a scribe in the examination should invariably carefully indicate the same in the online application form. Any subsequent request may not be favorably entertained.
- Only candidates registered for compensatory time will be allowed such concessions since compensatory time given to candidates shall be system-based, it shall not be possible for the test conducting agency to allow such time if he/she is not registered for the same. Candidates not registered for compensatory time shall not be allowed such concessions.
(ii) Guidelines for candidates with locomotor disability and cerebral palsy
- Compensatory time of twenty minutes per hour or otherwise advised shall be permitted for the candidates with locomotor disability and cerebral palsy where dominant (writing) extremity is affected to the extent of slowing the performance of function (minimum of 40% impairment).
(iii) Guidelines for Visually Impaired Candidates
- Visually Impaired candidates (who suffer from not less than 40% of disability) may opt to view the contents of the test in magnified font and all such candidates will be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour or otherwise advised of examination.
- The facility of viewing the contents of the test in magnifying font will not be available to Visually Impaired candidates who use the services of a Scribe for the examination.
These guidelines are subject to change in terms of GOI guidelines/ clarifications, if any, from time to time.
IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2024 - Important Points :-
- Candidates must produce the relevant documents in original and photocopy in support of their identity and eligibility -pertaining to category, nationality, age, educational qualifications, etc.
- Candidates, under any circumstance, can't change the category after the registration is successful.
- Candidates might be shortlisted in the preliminary examination, owing to their merit. It doesn't confirm their employment. They need to get through the entire process and cross the barriers step by step.
- No request or application for considering the candidature under a different category other than the one registered with will be entertained.

IBPS Clerk 2024 Marking Scheme
Prelims
- There are a total number of questions 100 in the prelims examination.
- The maximum mark allotted for the prelims examination is 100.
- The mark allotted for every correct answer is 1 mark.
- A Negative Marking of 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer
- The time duration of the preliminary examination is 60 minute
Mains
- There are a total number of questions 190 in the Mains examination.
- The maximum marks allotted for the Mains examination is 200
- The mark allotted for every correct answer is 1 mark.
- A Negative Marking of 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer
- The time duration of the Mains examination is 160 minute
- Each question from the Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude section will be of 1.20 marks
- The candidates need to qualify for the preliminary examination to attend the mains examination
- Candidates will have to clear the overall cutoff and sectional cutoff separately in both prelims and main exams.
Note: Only marks obtained in the Main exam will determine the merit list of candidates for final selection.

The syllabus for Numerical Ability / Quantitative Aptitude and English Language is the same for mains and preliminary exams. In addition to these two, the other subjects are General / Financial Awareness and Reasoning & Computer Knowledge. General Awareness is based on the Banking Sector awareness.

The in-hand salary which will be received by the IBPS Clerk would be Rs. 29453.67/-. The In Hand salary given will be inclusive of allowances as per the 7th pay commission.
IBPS Clerk Year Wise Pay Scale
Basic Pay and the allowances make the entire IBPS Clerk Salary. The minimum Basic Pay of the IBPS Clerk will be Rs. 19,900/- while the maximum will be Rs Rs. 47,920/-.
- Initial Basic Pay: INR 19,900 with a yearly increment of INR 655 for three years.
- Basic Pay After 3 Years: INR 20,900 with a yearly increment of INR 815 for the next three years.
