The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) provides age relaxation to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the guidelines of the Government of India. This means that candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), Ex-Servicemen, and other eligible categories are given age relaxation ranging from 3 to 10 years over and above the general upper age limit of 28 years.

IBPS Clerk Nationality

To fulfill the IBPS clerk eligibility for the recruitment, the aspirants need to fulfil the below-mentioned nationality requirements.

The candidates need to be an:

  •  An Indian citizen or,
  •  A subject of Bhutan or Nepal or,
  •  A Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before 1st January 1962 to settle in the country permanently or,
  •  An Indian person who has come over from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zaire, or Vietnam to settle in India on a permanent note.

Reservation for Persons having Physical Infirmities

Section 34 i.e. “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016” affirms that persons having physical infirmities are worthy of Reservation. Below mentioned are the reserved categories of disabilities for this act. 

  • Blindness and low vision.
  • Deaf and hard of hearing.
  • Locomotor issues include cerebral palsy, acid attack victims, leprosy cured, muscular dystrophy, and dwarfism.
  • Autism, specific learning disability, intellectual disability, and mental illness.
  • Multiple disabilities from amid persons under clause (a) to (d) involving deaf-blindness in the posts recognized for each disability.

IBPS Clerk Guidelines for Persons With Disabilities using a Scribe

1. Following are the Guidelines for Persons With Disabilities using a Scribe- 

The visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is adversely affected permanently for any medical reason can use their own scribe at their cost during the online examination. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply:

  • The candidate will have to arrange his / her scribe at his/her own cost.
  • The scribe may be from any academic stream.
  • Both the candidate as well as scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe mentioned above. Further, in case it later transpired that he/she did not fulfil any laid down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the CWE (Common Written Examination).
  • Those candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes or otherwise advised for every hour of the examination.
  • The scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate for the examination (CWE (Common Written Examination) PO/MT (Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees)-VI). If violation of the above is detected at any stage of the process, candidature for CWE of both the candidate and the scribe will be cancelled. Candidates eligible for and who wish to use the services of a scribe in the examination should invariably carefully indicate the same in the online application form. Any subsequent request may not be favorably entertained.
  • Only candidates registered for compensatory time will be allowed such concessions since compensatory time given to candidates shall be system-based, it shall not be possible for the test conducting agency to allow such time if he/she is not registered for the same. Candidates not registered for compensatory time shall not be allowed such concessions.

2. Guidelines for candidates with locomotor disability and cerebral palsy

  • Compensatory time of twenty minutes per hour or otherwise advised shall be permitted for the candidates with locomotor disability and cerebral palsy where dominant (writing) extremity is affected to the extent of slowing the performance of function (minimum of 40% impairment).

3. Guidelines for Visually Impaired Candidates

  • Visually Impaired candidates (who suffer from not less than 40% of disability) may opt to view the contents of the test in magnified font and all such candidates will be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour or otherwise advised of examination.
  • The facility of viewing the contents of the test in magnifying font will not be available to Visually Impaired candidates who use the services of a Scribe for the examination.

Prelims

  • There are a total number of  questions 100 in the prelims examination.
  • The maximum mark allotted for the prelims examination is 100.
  • The mark allotted for every correct answer is 1 mark.

Candidates appointed as IBPS Clerk are offered a comprehensive salary package inclusive of various allowances & benefits. The salary offered to the candidates will be as per the 7th pay commission.   • DA is 4 percent of the IBPS Clerk Basic Pay.

  • The HRA depends on the location of the posting.
  • It is 8.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for Metro Cities, 7.5 per cent for cities having a population of more than 5 lakhs, and 6.5 per cent for other cities.
Travel Allowance Expenses of official tours and travels will be reimbursed by the bank.
Medical Allowance It is paid once a year. For an IBPS Clerk employee, it is fixed at INR 2,000 annually.

IBPS Clerk Probation Period

The candidates who will be selected for the IBPS Clerk post will have to undergo a probation period of 6 months. Only after an assessment test or review of the candidates performance, will he/she be considered as a permanent employee.
