RRB ASM Exam Pattern

As per the official notification, the RRB ASM selection process will include the following stages

• Computer Based Test (CBT) - 1
• Computer Based Test - 2
• Computer-Based Aptitude Test / Typing Skill Test
• Document Verification / Medical Examination

All the applicants will be called initially for the Computer Based Test - 1, and then only those candidates who will outscore the RRB ASM Cut Off Marks of the CBT - 1 will qualify further for the next stage of the recruitment process, that is, CBT - 2 and so on. Stage 1: Computer Based Test - 1

• The CBT - 1 is only qualifying in nature, which means, the marks scored by the candidates in the CBT - 1 will not be counted for the final selection.
• However, candidates who will fail in CBT - 1 will be considered disqualified from the recruitment process and will not proceed to the next stage of recruitment.
• The CBT - 1 consists of 100 Questions related to different subjects like Maths, Reasoning, and Current Affairs.
• Each question will be of 1 mark.
• The maximum mark for the CBT is 100 marks and the time allotted is 90 minutes.
• The questions asked will be MCQ type.
• There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for each wrong answer attempted by the candidates.
• There will be no negative marking for the unattempted questions.
• The language of the questions will be English, Hindi, Urdu, or other local languages, depending upon the RRBs chosen by the applicants while filling the online application form.
• The PWD (Person with Disabilities) candidates will be given an extra 30 minutes (Total: 120 Minutes) for the CBT - 1.

Stage 2: Computer Based Test - 2

• The marks scored by the candidates in the CBT - 2 will be considered while preparing for the final merit list.
• The CBT - 2 consists of 120 Questions related to different subjects like Maths, Reasoning, and Current Affairs.
• Each question will be of 1 mark.
• The maximum mark for the CBT is 120 marks and the time allotted is 90 minutes.
• The questions asked will be MCQ type.
• There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for each wrong answer attempted by the candidates.
• There will be no negative marking for the unattempted questions.
• The language of the questions will be English, Hindi, Urdu, or other local languages, depending upon the RRBs chosen by the applicants while filling the online application form.
• The PWD candidates will be given extra 30 minutes (Total: 120 Minutes) for CBT - 2.

Stage 3: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

• Candidates, after passing the CBT will be called further to appear for the second stage of the RRB ASM recruitment process, that is, Computer Based Aptitude Test.
• The shortlisting of the candidates for the CBAT stage will be done on the basis of their performance in the CBT - 2.
• CBAT will have the number of applicants equal to 8 times the total number of vacancies based on the merit of the second stage CBT.
• The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
• This applies to all candidates irrespective of their category or community.
• No relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible.
• The CBAT will have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi
• There will be no negative marking in CBAT.
• Candidates must note that they must bring an official Vision Certificate to the examination center while appearing for the aptitude test. Candidates who fail to bring their vision certificate by an Eye Specialist will not be allowed to appear for the aptitude test.
• Further details about the Computer Based Aptitude Test will be released by the Railway Recruitment Board through the official notification

 Stage 4: Document Verification / Medical Examination

Candidates who perform well in all three stages will be called further for the final stage of the RRB ASM recruitment process, that is, the document verification, and the medical examination. In this stage, candidates will need to present their original documents (like mark sheets, birth proof, cast certificate, etc.) as per their online application form. Along with the document verification, the medical test will also be held of all the shortlisted candidates.

Candidates who will clear the document verification process and Medical examination will stand a chance to make their name to the final merit list of the selected candidates based on their performance in all the recruitment stages.

The initial Pay Scale of an RRB ASM employee is Rs. 35,400/- per month. The salary is under level 06 of the 7th Pay Commission. The Railway Recruitment Board salary is subject to increase after training and then as per performance of the employee.

Annual Salary Package for RRB Assistant Station Master

As mentioned earlier above, the salary is paid as mentioned in the official notification. The annual salary of a RRB ASM employee is INR 6,00,000 /-, including all extra allowances, perks and additional advantages. The salary is paid after the training period. The expected monthly salary of an Assistant Station Master is paid after the training period. After the initial training period, the employee will be paid an in-hand salary of 46,000/- per month. The salary varies as per job location and level of post, the candidate is employed at.

Probation Period for RRB ASM Posts

The employees recruited need to be under a probation period before they are permanently selected for the post of RRB ASM. The salary and other benefits can be accessed only when the candidates are finalised after the probation period. An indemnity bond is made to sign of 5 years before joining as a permanent employee.

RRB ASM Eligibility Criteria: Highlights

RRB ASM Eligibility Criteria 2021

Candidates applying for the post of the RRB ASM must satisfy all the relevant points as per the RRB ASM Eligibility Criteria. The official RRB ASM recruitment notification has not been released yet by the Indian Railways. RRB ASM Age Limit:

As per the RRB ASM Eligibility Criteria, candidates applying for the post must be within the age limit of 18 to 32 years as of 1st January 2021.

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 32 Years

This age limit is applicable for all the applicants except for some reserved category candidates who are provided certain age relaxation on the upper age limit.

Educational Qualifications:

As per the RRB ASM Eligibility Criteria, all the applicants must possess a graduation degree in any stream from any government-recognized university or its equivalent.

RRB ASM Nationality:

All the candidates applying for the RRB ASM posts must have Indian citizenship

RRB ASM Number of Attempts:

According to the official notification, there is no limit to the number of times an applicant can apply for the post of RRB Assistant Station Master. Candidates can apply for this post as long as they are within the required age limit based on their respective categories.

RRB ASM Experience:

As per the RRB ASM Eligibility Criteria, there is no mandatory requirement of any kind of experience for the applicants to possess in order to fill the online application form for the post of RRB ASM. Therefore, any fresher candidate can also apply for the RRB ASM post. However, candidates must wait for the release of the latest notification for the official confirmation regarding this.
