What is SBI SO exam?
SBI SO exam is conducted by the State Bank of India to recruit officers in different specialized categories. SBI invites application for specialist officer (SO) recruitment as per vacancies in different departments. Commonly, the recruitment is conducted for managerial posts, however, notifications are also being released for recruitment at the senior levels. Presently, recruitment for several posts is going on. The recruitment is generally conducted in two phases, online exam and personal interview, however, in many cases recruitment is done by shortlisting of candidates followed by personal interview.

- CISO - Minimum 15 years in overseeing financial operations, preferably financial information security matters in Banks/ Large Corporates/ PSUs/ FIs/ Financial Services Organizations/ Financial & Technology Consulting firms, of which minimum 5 years should be in the core domain area of Information Security in Banks / FIs at Senior Management Level.

State Bank of India conducts a recruitment drive for the post of Specialist Officer. Each year, the SBI SO exam is taken to shortlist candidates for different posts. Candidates interested in applying must match the SBI SO Exam eligibility criteria. The minimum and maximum age limits to apply to any of the SBI SO posts vary from 21 years to 45 years; however, reserved category candidates get some relaxation. Also, only Indian citizens can give the exam.
SBI SO Eligibility Criteria: Nationality & Domicile
The candidates giving the SBI SO exam must be Indian citizens. OCI and NRIs are not eligible to give the exam. Under SBI SO eligibility criteria, state domicile does not exist as this is a national-level exam.

SBI SO Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempt
- As per guidelines shared by the SBI, candidates belonging to the general category can appear a maximum of 4 times in the SBI SO exam.
- The total number of attempts allowed to OBC candidates is 7.
- There is no restriction for the candidates belonging to SC/ST category
SBI SO 2023 Exam Pattern
There is a separate exam to recruit Specialist Officers as Assistant Managers, Engineers, Officers, Architects, Designers, Administrators, Tester, Manager, Analysts, Developers, and various other posts on a regular/ contractual basis. Candidates applying for a particular post must meet the minimum SBI SO eligibility criteria. The exam pattern for each of them is different.
SBI SO Exam Pattern
The written exam for SBI SO will be an objective-type, online test. Candidates must keep in mind the following about the SBI SO exam pattern:
- The exam will have 270 marks.
- There will be 195 questions in the exam.
- The duration of the exam will be 160 minutes.

Interview
The selection process for all posts has an interview round. For the post of System Officer (Test Engineer, Web Developer, and Performance/ Senior Automation Test Engineer), the weightage of the interview will be 30%, and 70% will be for the online written test. The final merit list of the SBI SO will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate in all stages, including the interview.

For MMGS Grade Scale III
The officials are eligible to avail DA, HRA, CCA, PF, Contributory Pension Fund, LFC, Medical Facility, etc.
Faculty, SBIL, Kolkata
In addition to CTC, other perks that are offered to the employees of this job include traveling expenses for traveling by taxi, air (economy class) in case of traveling on official duties, and Deputation allowance (DA) that is equivalent to the Assistant General Manager of the bank.
The faculty will be allowed to utilize up to a maximum of 90 days per annum in external teaching or consulting on a revenue-sharing model.
Chief Manager (Special Situation Team) and Deputy Manager (Stressed Assets Marketing)
The official designated with this post will be eligible for DA, CCA, PFM HRA, Contributory Pension Fund, LFC, Medical Facility, etc. as per the rules that come into force from time to time.
Deputy Manager (Stressed Assets Marketing)
There are no perks or other benefits other than CTC that is given to the deputy manager. Also, CTC consists of fixed pay and variable pay in the ratio of 80:20.
Executive (FI and MM) and Senior Executive (Social Banking and CSR)
The fixed pay component of 70% is given along with the variable component of 30%. An annual increment of a maximum of 10% subject is made to fulfill the bank’s conditions. Also, traveling allowance and other perks are applicable as per the bank’s rule.
