Overview
LIC ADO Notification and Exam Date 2024
Life Insurance Corporation will soon release the notification for the post of Apprentice Development Officer (LIC ADO) for different zones. Applicants that are interested in joining the LIC can apply for this post after checking the eligibility criteria. Though the official notification hasn’t been released yet, it is expected that the eligibility criteria will be the same as that of the previous year.
LIC ADO 2023- Overview
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) released the LIC ADO (Apprentice Development Officer) Recruitment Notification 2023, announcing 9,394 vacancies in various fields. The application window was open from January 21 to February 10, 2023. The preliminary exam was held on March 12 and the main exam on April 8, 2023.

Job Role of LIC ADO
- Development of Insurance Agents: ADOs are primarily responsible for recruiting individuals as LIC agents and training them to sell insurance policies.
- Sales Supervision: They monitor the performance of agents and motivate them to achieve sales targets.
- Insurance Product Promotion: ADOs work on promoting and selling LIC insurance products.
Work-Life Balance and Career Growth
The role of an ADO involves fieldwork, agent training, and a focus on meeting sales targets. However, it offers good career progression, as the individual can be promoted to development officer, senior development officer, and eventually branch or divisional managerial roles.
LIC ADO Eligibility
- Candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognized university.
- Age limit is 21-30 years, relaxation for reserved categories (e.g., 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates)

• Interview (Phase III)
- Candidates who qualify for the main exam are called for interview. The interviewer usually carries a maximum of 40 marks.
Final Selection
- The final merit list is prepared by combining the marks of main examination and interview.

Candidates can apply online through the official LIC website when the recruitment notification is released. The application fee is typically around ₹600 for General/OBC candidates and ₹100 for SC/ST candidates.

The LIC ADO Exam is conducted in three phases:

Whereas, candidates only need to appear for LIC Mains exam for LIC Employee and LIC Agent category.

On-line Test for LIC Agents & LIC Employee Category:
Selection of Apprentice Development Officer from LIC Agents & LIC Employee Category will be done through a single phase examination i.e. Main Examination. It will be an objective test, which will be conducted online for 160 marks. The objective test will have composite duration of two hours, i.e. 120 minutes.

The LIC ADO exam generally focuses on reasoning, Numerical ability and English language which is compulsory for three rounds of the exam. After qualifying for the written exam, candidates will be called for the Interview i.e. face-to-face personality test.
After the interview, the medical test is the last phase of the choice process, all shortlisted Applicants have to appear for LIC ADO checkup to prove their physical and medical fitness. Post qualifying this phase, Applicants are going to be given placements in their respective locations.

- Dearness Allowance (DA): DA is revised every quarter based on the CPI (Consumer Price Index). This LIC AAO salary forms CPI 40% of the Basic Pay.
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): HRA can be 9%, 8%, or 7% of the basic pay depending on the location of the job.
- City Compensatory Allowance (CCA): CCA can be 4%, 3%, or 0% and it also depends on the location of posting.

LIC ADO Probationary Period
Candidates appointed as Apprentice Development Officer have to go through a probationary period of 1 year. This period can be extended by the authority while supervising the performance of the appointed candidate. During the probationary period, candidates will be paid equal to the basic pay of ?21,865 per month.

LIC ADO Age Limit Criteria 2024
• The age limit for LIC Apprentice Development Officers is set from a minimum age of 21 years to a maximum age limit of 30 years. Candidates must meet the minimum age criteria to be eligible for the LIC Apprentice Development Officer post. Apart from this, there is age relaxation for the upper age limit.

LIC ADO Educational Qualification 2024
The educational qualification for all the three categories .i.e. Employee category, Agents category, and others for both the Rural and Urban area is the same. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Apart from this, priority will be given to those candidates who have a better understanding of Insurance marketing or possess Masters in Business Administration or PG Diploma in Marketing from any institute approved by the Indian Council of Technical Education.
