LIC Assistant Exam Pattern

There are two phases in LIC Assistant Exam: Preliminary (Prelims) and Mains Exam. Check detailed patterns of each phase.

LIC Assistant Exam Pattern- Prelims

• There will be 3 sections in the Written Exam, namely: Reasoning, English Language / Hindi Language, Quantitative Aptitude

• Total Duration of the written exam – 1 hour

Preliminary Examination consisting of objective test will be conducted online

Note: English/Hindi Language test is a qualifying exam and marks in the Language section will not be considered for the ranking.

LIC Assistant Exam Pattern- Mains

After qualifying for Preliminary Exam, candidates would be appearing for the LIC Mains exam. The Main Exam Pattern of LIC Assistant is given :

• The main examination will consist of objective tests for 200 marks.
• The objective test will be conducted in online mode.
• There will be negative marks of ¼ marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests for the main examination
• The objective test will have separate timing for every section.
• Qualification of the Preliminary exam is essential to appear for Mains Exam. However, the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase I) will not be added to the marks of Mains for selection.
• Thus, the final selection will be based on the marks obtained by a candidate in Main Examination (Phase II)

Medical Test

The applicants have to be medically fit for getting recruited as the LIC Assistant. They have to undergo a medical test. The eligible candidates who have cracked all the stages of the examination and are medically fit would be able to make their way through to the LIC Assistant job.
