This exam will only have objective-type questions. There will be 200 MCQs in this exam for a total of 200 marks. You have to score the cut-off marks in this exam to rank in the final merit list. The SSC CPO Recruitment 2024 has 4 stages of selection - Paper I, Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper-II, and a Detailed Medical Test to qualify. SSC CPO Eligibility

The SSC CPO Eligibility criteria are recommended by the SSC board. The Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organisation eligibility criteria include all the important details such as age limit, educational qualification, nationality, category-wise physical and medical standards. Candidates to apply their candidature to SSC CPO Exam must fulfil all the eligibility criteria as per their category (General, OBC, SC, ST). Candidates are advised to read the complete details regarding the eligibility criteria of the SSC CPO Exam before filling the application form.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Candidates to apply for SSC CPO Exam must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan. Indian candidates should have a valid nationality proof such as Voter ID, Aadhar card, PAN card, Driving License,etc. Candidates who are subject of Nepal or Bhutan must possess the certificate issued by the Government of India.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

Age Limit ( as on 01.08.2024 )

Age limit of the candidates should be from 20 to 25 years as on 01.08.2024 (i.e., candidates born not before 02.08.1999 and not later than 01.08.2004).

Candidates who wish to apply for SSC CPO Exam should meet the below-mentioned age limit criteria:

  • The date of birth of the candidate will be eligible as per the record in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate

Process of Certification and format of certificates:

  • OBC certificates issued by Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) to candidates for OBCs listed by GNCTD but not included in Central list of OBCs will be accepted only for the post of SI in Delhi Police for reservation and age relaxation purposes. Such candidates will be treated as OBC for the post of only SI in Delhi Police and as UR for all other posts. 

  • Candidates who wish to be considered against reserved vacancies or seek age-relaxation must submit requisite certificate from the competent authority, in the prescribed format when such certificates are sought by the concerned authority. Otherwise, their claim for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM etc. will not be entertained and their candidature will be cancelled. The formats of the certificates are annexed. Certificates in any other format are liable to be rejected.

  • Candidates may also note that their candidature will remain provisional until the veracity of the concerned certificates/documents relating to the Educational Qualifications, Caste/Category, etc. is verified and found satisfactory by the Appointing Authority. Candidates are cautioned that they will be debarred from the examinations conducted by the Commission in case they fraudulently claim the status of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM/Departmental candidates of Delhi Police, etc.

  • Crucial date for claim of SC/ST/OBC/EWS status or any other benefit, viz., fee concession, reservation, age-relaxation, etc, where not specified otherwise, will be the closing date for receipt of online applications, i.e., 28.03.2024.


SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

Essential Educational Qualification (as on 01.08.2024):

  • The candidates who are willing to apply for any of the posts should attain a graduate degree /certificate including a technical education degree/diploma from a recognized university as on 1st August 2024. Applicants who have completed graduation from open or distance learning mode of education are also eligible to apply. CPO Full Length Mock Test
     
  • As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10.06.2015 published in the Gazette of India all the degrees/ diplomas/ certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 and Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government provided they have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission. Accordingly, unless such degrees are recognized for the relevant period when the candidates acquired the qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.
  • under Part-III (8) (v), the programmers’ in engineering, medicine, dental, nursing, pharmacy, architecture and physiotherapy, etc. are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode. However, B. Tech. degree/diploma in Engineering awarded by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to the students who were enrolled up to academic year 2009-10 shall be treated as valid, wherever applicable.

  • Candidates who have not yet acquired but will acquire the educational qualification, and produce documentary evidence from the Board/University in support thereof, as on 01.08.2024 will also be eligible.

  • All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission in Computer Based Examinations, Physical Endurance Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST) and Medical Examinations will be required to produce all relevant Certificates in original such as Mark sheets/Provisional Degree/Diploma Certificate as proof of having acquired the minimum Educational Qualifications (EQs) on or before 01.08.2024 failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled. The candidates who are able to prove by documentary evidence that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cut-off date and he/she has been declared passed will also be considered to have the required Educational Qualification. It is reiterated that the result of requisite Educational Qualifications (EQs) must have been declared by the Board/University by the specified date. Mere processing of the result by the Board/University by the crucial cut-off date does not fulfill the EQ requirement.

  • In case of the candidates possessing equivalent educational qualification, such candidates shall also produce relevant Equivalence Certificate from the concerned authorities at the time of Document Verification. Final decision regarding selection of such candidates will be taken by the concerned User Departments/Appointing Authorities.
     

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Driving License Qualification (only for Delhi Police SI)

The male candidates applying for the post of SI in Delhi Police should have a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests. If the candidate fails to present the driving license on the mentioned date, then he will not be allowed for SSC CPO 2024 exam.

Physical Endurance Test comprises of a list of tasks which the candidate must finish to qualify for the next stage. Here is the list of all such tasks:

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify Paper 2 are then medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPF or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade 1 of any Central/ State Government Hospital or Dispensary or any other Medical Officer. Candidates, who do not meet the medical eligibility are informed about their position, such candidates can make an appeal to Review Medical Board (RMB) within the specified time limit of 15 days. Candidates must note that decision of RMB is considered final and candidates cannot appeal further to the RMB.

Eye test : The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 without wearing glasses, and near vision must be N6 and N9 of both eyes and without correction. Candidates have to undergo a complete eye-checkup and the test include Irish check, near sight vision, and far sight vision. Candidates are also not permitted to wear eye lenses on the day of the exam as the officials will check by rubbing the eyes. A candidate should not have squint in eyes and must possess high colour vision.

Lasik Surgery : Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery are disqualified in the Medical Exam. Medical Officers cannot determine whether the candidate has undergone Lasik Surgery without the machine test, or the candidate admits it by himself. Moreover, Medical Officers are not allowed to conduct medical test, therefore, the candidate must answer according to his discretion.

Colour Blindness Test : Candidates would also need to undergo colour blindness wherein they would be asked to read numbers in a colour dotted book to recognize colours

Flat Foot and Knock Knee Check : Knock Knee test is done to check whether candidate’s knees touch each other while standing perpendicular to the ground, if the candidate’s knees touch each other at this position then they are disqualified. In Flat foot test, the shape of the candidate’s foot is checked. Candidate must have curve feet to qualify this test.

Urine Sample Collection : It is a routine sample check up

Sharp Sensibility Checkup : Test of Nose-Ear-Mouth and Teeth

Blood Test : Candidate’s blood sample is taken to check haemoglobin, STD, and any such diseases

Physical Body Check : Candidate’s Blood Pressure, BMI and whole body is examined under this checkup

X-Ray of Chest : This test is done only for male candidates-

Hand Movement Test : Candidates should have efficient movement of hands and perfect hand carrying angles

In addition to the aforementioned major tests, the following small tests are also conducted for SSC CPO Exam:

Teeth : Candidate’s teeth must be properly aligned and countable

Ear : Candidate’s ear must be clean (clean your ear with ear buds before the medical test)

Varicose veins : These veins are found from stomach to feet and are responsible for varicocele

Hydrocele & Piles : The candidate should not face any of these issue

Arms : Arms of the candidate should move properly

Backbone : Candidate’s backbone should be in proper position and straight up the order

SSC CPO Exam Pattern For SI & ASI (Delhi Police, CAPFs) & CISF Posts

SSC CPO Exam Pattern - Paper I

The first paper will have 4 subjects namely General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Each subject will comprise of 50 questions carrying one mark each. There is a negative marking scheme in the examination, every wrong answer will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks. The pattern of examination is as follows.

  • Questions will be set in Hindi and English in Parts A, B and C of Paper I.

SSC CPO Salary Allowances Provided to SI and ASI

House Rental Allowance (HRA)

  • The government provides HRA as per the city the officer is posted in. For X City the HRA shall not be less than Rs 5,400 per month while for Y City and Z City, the HRA shall be at least Rs 3,600 and Rs 1,800, respectively. An officer gets 24 percent of basic pay in X City whereas 16 percent and 8 percent in Y City and Z City, respectively.

Dearness Allowance (DA)

  • The government pays dearness allowance to its employees and pensioner to offset the impact of inflation. This is done to cope up with the increasing prices of the market. Therefore, the Government keeps a constant enhancement in the effective salary of its employees. As per the existing scenario, the current DA is 17% of the basic salary.

Travelling Allowance (TA)

  • The government pays TA to its employees to meet the cost of traveling an employee for business purposes. The rate of TA varies as per the place the officer is posted. For X City the officer gets Rs 3,600 as TA while for Y and Z City, the officer is paid Rs 1,800.

Diet Allowance/ Ration Money

  • SSC CPO Officers are entitled to Diet Allowance or Ration Money to cater to their dietary needs. Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police gets Rs 101.5 per day while Sub-Inspector in CISF gets Rs 97.85 per day as Ration Money.

Children Education Allowance (CEA) and Hostel Subsidy

  • Children Education Allowance: SSC CPO officer gets CEA of Rs 2,250 per month (Rs 27,000 per annum) for their children school fees. The officer is entitled to CEA to educate their children from Nursery to Class 12. If the DA increases by 50 per cent then CEA shall increase by 25 percent.
  • Hostel Subsidy: The officer also gets Rs 6,750 per month (Rs 81,000 per annum) if his/ her child is staying in Hostel. Also, for Hostel Subsidy, if the DA increases by 50 per cent then CEA shall increase by 25 percent.

Dress Allowance :

  • The SSC CPO officer is also entitled to Dress Allowance. The officer gets Rs 10,000 every year in the month of July for their uniform.

Risk/ Hardship Allowance

  • The government pays hardship/ risk allowance as per the region the officer is posted. The Sub-Inspector posted in remote and dangerous areas are given this allowance as per the level of risk. The government pays extra Hardship Allowance to high-risk areas.
