SSC CPO Eligibility

To apply for the SSC CPO recruitment, candidates must meet the basic eligibility rules set by the Staff Selection Commission. Applicants should be Indian nationals and fall within the age limit of 20 to 25 years as on the specified cut-off date. A graduation degree from a recognized university is required to be eligible. Relaxations in age are allowed for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government guidelines. SSC CPO Salary Allowances Provided to SI and ASI

House Rental Allowance (HRA)

  • The government provides HRA as per the city the officer is posted in. For X City the HRA shall not be less than Rs 5,400 per month while for Y City and Z City, the HRA shall be at least Rs 3,600 and Rs 1,800, respectively. An officer gets 24 percent of basic pay in X City whereas 16 percent and 8 percent in Y City and Z City, respectively.

Dearness Allowance (DA)

  • The government pays dearness allowance to its employees and pensioner to offset the impact of inflation. This is done to cope up with the increasing prices of the market. Therefore, the Government keeps a constant enhancement in the effective salary of its employees. As per the existing scenario, the current DA is 17% of the basic salary.

Travelling Allowance (TA)

  • The government pays TA to its employees to meet the cost of traveling an employee for business purposes. The rate of TA varies as per the place the officer is posted. For X City the officer gets Rs 3,600 as TA while for Y and Z City, the officer is paid Rs 1,800.

Diet Allowance/ Ration Money

  • SSC CPO Officers are entitled to Diet Allowance or Ration Money to cater to their dietary needs. Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police gets Rs 101.5 per day while Sub-Inspector in CISF gets Rs 97.85 per day as Ration Money.

Children Education Allowance (CEA) and Hostel Subsidy

  • Children Education Allowance: SSC CPO officer gets CEA of Rs 2,250 per month (Rs 27,000 per annum) for their children school fees. The officer is entitled to CEA to educate their children from Nursery to Class 12. If the DA increases by 50 per cent then CEA shall increase by 25 percent.
  • Hostel Subsidy: The officer also gets Rs 6,750 per month (Rs 81,000 per annum) if his/ her child is staying in Hostel. Also, for Hostel Subsidy, if the DA increases by 50 per cent then CEA shall increase by 25 percent.

Dress Allowance :

  • The SSC CPO officer is also entitled to Dress Allowance. The officer gets Rs 10,000 every year in the month of July for their uniform.

Risk/ Hardship Allowance

  • The government pays hardship/ risk allowance as per the region the officer is posted. The Sub-Inspector posted in remote and dangerous areas are given this allowance as per the level of risk. The government pays extra Hardship Allowance to high-risk areas.
