SSC GD 2025 Notification. The Staff Selection Commission has released a detailed notification for SSC GD 2025 on 05 Sep 2024 at ssc.gov.in. SSC has announced a total of (Will be updated after notification) vacancies of Constable (General Duty) in BSF, CISF, ITBP, CRPF, Rifleman in AR and Sepoy in NCB. SSC GD Constable Eligibility Criteria

SSC GD  Exam Syllabus

The SSC GD 2025 has four consecutive stages, and the first stage is a Computer Based Exam. The syllabus for the SSC GD CBE 2025 will be based on matriculation level. The second stage is a Physical Efficiency Test wherein several physical tests will be conducted to test the candidate’s fitness. The next stage is that of the Physical Standard Test, and here the physical parameters are checked. The Last Stage is a Medical Examination to ensure the proper health of the candidate.

SSC GD  Physical Efficiency Test Syllabus

Once you clear the SSC GD CBE, you will be allowed to attempt the SSC GD PET. The PET exam is a rigorous physical exam that tests your fitness and physical aptitude. The officials will first check whether you fit the height and weight criterion after which you will be allowed to attempt the PET. The PET is a Race that you have to complete within the time allotted. This will be followed by biometric identification. Here are the criteria for SSC GD 2025 PET

SSC GD Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit, Education, & Others

To apply for the post of SSC GD Exam, Candidates have to fulfill the following eligibility requirements. The eligibility for the post of SSC GD exam is based on the below factors.

  • Physical standard

Academic Qualification (As on 01-01-2025): 

  • Academic Qualification is one of the important eligibility criteria to apply for the post of SSC GD. The minimum qualification to apply for the post of SSC GD, 2023 is to qualify for 10th standard or Matriculation from a recognized board/ University. Candidates who have not acquired the essential qualification are not eligible to apply for the post.
    • As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10-06- 2015 published in the Gazette of India all the degrees/ diplomas/ certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 and Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government provided they have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission. Accordingly, unless such degrees are recognized for the relevant period when the candidates acquired the qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.
    • All the candidates who are called for Document Verification will be required to produce the relevant Certificates such as Mark sheets, Provisional Certificates etc. for completion of Matriculation in original as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before the cut-off date, failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled by the Commission. The candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence, that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cut-off date and he has been declared passed, will also be considered to meet the educational qualification. It is reiterated that the result of requisite educational qualification must have been declared by the Board/ Institute/ University by the specified date. Mere processing of the result by the Board/ University/ Institute by the cutoff date does not fulfill the EQ requirement.

Incentive to NCC Certificate Holders: The incentive to ‘NCC Certificate’ holders will be granted at the following scales.

  • The benefit of incentive/Bonus marks will only be provided to a candidate who has opted for bonus marks/ incentive for ‘NCC certificate’ in online application.
  • The benefit to NCC Certificate Holder will be confirmed only on production of the original certificate supporting their claims at the time of document verification.
  • However, till the verification of NCC Certificate, bonus marks will be awarded provisionally as per the claim of candidate in the online application form.
  • The crucial date for this purpose will be the closing date of receipt of online applications.
  • This benefit is not available for Ex-servicemen.

Age limit

18-23 years as on 01-01-2025. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-01-2002 and later than 01-01-2007 in normal course.

  • Note: Due to unprecedented ‘Covid Pandemic’, it has been decided by the Government to grant three (03) years age relaxation beyond respective prescribed upper age limit for all categories of the candidates as one-time measure for this recruitment.

Nationality:

Nationality is another important Eligibility Criteria to apply for this post. Only Indian Candidates can apply for the post. For migrated candidates, they must submit domicile/ PRC against his/ her state/ UT.

Age relaxation:

Age relaxation is there for the candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC, Ex-serviceman, and other categories of person. There is age relaxation in the upper age limit. In the below table, the details of age relaxation are given:

Physical Standard

Physical Standard is another important eligibility for the post of SSC GD. Candidates who will qualify for the Computer Based Test will be shortlisted for the Physical Eligibility Test/ Physical Standard Test which is conducted by the commission. Physical Eligibility Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) will be conducted at various centres which will be finalized by Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Candidates who found themselves to be eligible on height parameters will have to undergo Physical Eligibility Test (PET) which will be followed by biometric/ technology aided identification. The SSC GD Exam, commissioned by SSC, has four parts

SSC GD : Written Exam

SSC conducts the written exam for General Duty Constable Exams both in online and offline modes. Details related to SSC GD exam pattern are mentioned below:

  • The question papers for online exams are in Hindi and English.
  • The question papers for offline exams are in Hindi, English, and the regional language based on the location of the exam centre.
  • The papers are MCQ based and consist of 80 questions.
  • The total time duration of the SSC GD exam is 60 minutes.
  • The paper has four sections- General Awareness, English/Hindi, Intelligence and Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude.
  • The first section of General Awareness contains scientific research, general polity, geography, history, culture, and others.
  • This section contains topics that test the comprehensive and grammatical abilities of the students through the questions about the language.
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning consists of topics like problem-solving, number series, analogies, coding-decoding and figures classification, and others.
  • The section of Quantitative Aptitude consists of topics like decimals, fractions, average, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and proportion, and others.
  • The questions consist of 2 mark for every correct answer.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer.
  • Each of the four sections contains 20 questions with a maximum mark of 40.
  • The candidates of the General category have to score a minimum of 35% to qualify for the next round.
  • The candidates of SC/ST/OBC have to score a minimum of 33% to qualify for the next round.

  • The vacancies are Tentative. Any change in the number of vacancies will be intimated through the website of the Commission
  • 10% vacancies are earmarked for Ex-servicemen (ESM). If suitable ESM candidates are not available, vacancies reserved for ESM will be filled by non-ESM candidates of respective categories.
  • As the vacancies in CAPFs have been earmarked States/ UT-wise, candidates are required to submit Domicile/ Permanent Residential Certificate of the State/ UT indicated by them in the online Application Form at the time of DME/ Documents Verification failing which his/her candidature will be cancelled forthwith and the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the Detailed Medical Examination. If a candidate produces Domicile/ Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued by a State other than the State mentioned in his/ her application, he/ she shall not be allowed to change the State at the time of Document Verification and his/her candidature shall be cancelled straightaway. Therefore Candidates should fill the Application Form very carefully.
  • Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve anywhere in India.
  • The appointment of candidates after selection is subject to availability of seats in training facilities of various CAPFs. As such, candidates may be appointed in phases in accordance with availability of training space. The Joining and in-service issues, seniority, training, etc will be regulated in accordance with the rules and regulations of various Organizations.
