SSC MTS Selection Process

The SSC MTS Selection Process is carried out in two main stages. The first stage is a Computer-Based Examination (CBT), which is mandatory for candidates applying for all posts. Candidates applying for the Havaldar post must additionally qualify the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). After successfully clearing the PST, shortlisted candidates are called for Document Verification (DV), where their educational and other required certificates are verified. SSC MTS Paper-1 Pattern

The SSC MTS Paper 1 is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and consists of 90 objective-type questions carrying a total of 270 marks. The exam is divided into two sessions. Session 1 includes questions from Numerical and Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving, with 20 questions from each section for 60 marks each. SSC MTS Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The SSC MTS Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is a qualifying stage conducted only for candidates applying for the Havaldar post to assess their physical stamina and fitness.

  • Male candidates must walk 1600 meters in 15 minutes
  • Female candidates must walk 1 kilometer in 20 minutes

SSC MTS Physical Standard Test (PST)

The SSC MTS Physical Standard Test (PST) is conducted for candidates applying for the Havaldar post to ensure they meet the prescribed physical standards set by the Staff Selection Commission.

  • Male: 157.5 cm (relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per rules)
  • Female: 152 cm (relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per rules)

The PET/PST stages are qualifying in nature, and no marks are awarded for these tests. Candidates who fail to meet the prescribed PET or PST standards will be disqualified from the Havaldar post. SSC MTS Nationality

To apply for the SSC MTS exam, a candidate must meet the nationality criteria set by the Staff Selection Commission. The applicant should be an Indian citizen. Candidates from Nepal or Bhutan, and Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 January 1962, are also eligible, subject to government conditions. Proof of nationality must be provided at the time of document verification.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2026

The SSC MTS 2026 exam starts with an online Paper-I test. This test is divided into two sessions, and both are compulsory. A candidate must complete both sessions to stay eligible. The questions are asked from Reasoning, Maths, English, and General Awareness. SSC MTS Career Growth & Promotion

SSC MTS employees receive regular salary increments and have good career growth opportunities under government service rules. There are two main types of increments under the SSC MTS pay structure.

1. Annual Increments

Annual increments are given every year at the rate of 3% of the total basic pay and grade pay. These increments help increase the salary steadily over time.

2. Promotional Increments

SSC MTS employees can also get promotions with higher pay based on experience, seniority, and departmental examinations. As per government norms, promotions generally occur after 3 to 5 years of service, offering long-term career growth.

SSC MTS Result

The SSC MTS Result 2025 will be declared on the official website ssc.gov.in after the completion of the examination process. Candidates who appeared for the SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) Paper-1 exam will be able to check their result in PDF format.

The result will contain the roll numbers and names of candidates who have qualified for the next stage—either Document Verification (for MTS posts) or PET/PST (for Havaldar posts). The result is usually released region-wise.
