- Now fill the One Time Registration (OTR) form.
- Enter your valid details as personal & professional in the form.

The SSC Stenographer application fee for all the categories is stated below. SSC Stenographer Eligibility 2024: Nationality :-
To be eligible for SSC Stenographer exam, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Candidates must be either:-
(1) A citizen of India, or
(2) A subject of Nepal, or
(3) A subject of Bhutan, or
4) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before January 1, 1962, for permanently settling in India, or
(5) Indians who have migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam for permanently settling in India.
Any candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued in their favour by the Government of India.

SSC Stenographer Eligibility 2024: Educational Qualification :-
The educational qualification prescribed for SSC Stenographer exam is given below:
- The candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university can apply for the exam
- Candidates who have not acquired the essential qualification are not eligible to apply
Can 12th appearing apply for SSC Stenographer?
To apply for SSC Stenographer exam, candidates must have passed Class 12. Those who are appearing in Class 12 are not eligible to apply for the exam.
What is the qualification for stenographer skills test?
Candidates have to work as English/ Hindi stenographers as per the functional requirement of the user office irrespective of the medium of skill test of the candidate during the examination.
Is typing certificate required for SSC Stenographer?
No, there is no need to show any certificate for SSC Stenographer post. After written examination SSC conduct a skill test (Stenography test means in examination hall an audio start and you have to write that 10 min dictation in Steno and then transcribe it in English by typing in computer).
Is graduation necessary for SSC stenographer?
The minimum educational qualification required to appear in SSC Stenographer exam is 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
Essential Educational Qualifications (As on 17.08.2024):
- Candidates must have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification 9 dated 10.06.2015 published in the Gazette of India all the degrees/diplomas/certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 and Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government provided they have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission. However, such degrees should be recognized for the relevant period when the candidate acquired the said qualification.
- As per University Grants Commission (UGC) (Open and Distance Learning) Regulations, 2017 published in official Gazette on 23- 06-2017, under Part-III (8) (v), the programmes in engineering, medicine, dental, nursing, pharmacy, architecture and physiotherapy etc are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode. However, pursuant to the Hon?ble Supreme Court Order dated 11- 03-2019 in MA No. 3092/2018 in W.P. (C) No. 382/2018 titled Mukul Kumar Sharma & others Vs AICTE and others, B. Tech. degree/diploma in Engineering awarded by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to the students who were enrolled up to academic year 2009-10 shall be treated as valid, wherever applicable.
- All candidates who are declared qualified in the Computer Based Examination and the Skill Test will be required to produce all the relevant Certificates in original such as Marks Sheets, Provisional Certificates etc. for completion of 12th standard or equivalent examination as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before --- failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled. The candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cut-off date and he/she has been declared passed, will also be considered to have met the required educational qualifications. It is reiterated that the result of requisite educational qualification must have been declared by the Board/University by the specified date. Mere processing of the result by the Board/University by the crucial cut-off date does not fulfill the EQ requirement
- In case of the candidates possessing equivalent educational qualification, such candidates shall also produce relevant Equivalence Certificate from the concerned authorities at the time of Document Verification. Final decision regarding selection of such candidates will be taken by the concerned User Departments/Appointing Authorities.
- The candidates must possess Essential Educational Qualification on or before the closing date for receipt of online applications.

SSC Stenographer Skill Test Syllabus is given below. The SSC Stenographer Skill Test is done on both computers and Paper. The candidates will be dictated a passage of 800 and 1000 wpm for Group D and C respectively, depending upon the marks obtained by the candidate.
