Candidates with Indian Nationality would only be allowed to participate in the SBI PO 2023 examination as per the eligibility norms mentioned by the organization. In a nutshell, a person has to be a citizen of India to be eligible for SBI PO recruitment.

SBI PO Age Limit Criteria  (As on 01.04.2023):

 Ensure checking the age limit criteria before taking the exam as if found ineligible later would lead to the rejection of the candidature. The applicant must be of the age group 21 years to 30 years as of 01.04.2023. There is also the provision for age relaxation for certain categories of aspirants.

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years

SBI PO Educational Qualification

Essential Academic Qualifications (as on 31.12.2023):

It is of utmost importance for the aspirants to check the SBI PO educational qualifications, the percentage required to be considered eligible. As per the SBI PO 2023 notification, candidates require to fulfil educational qualifications under the SBI PO eligibility criteria subject to the norms of the organization.

  • Those candidates who are interested in applying for the post of PO must be a graduate in any discipline from a state or central recognized university or possess any other equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • Candidates who are in their final semester/year are also eligible to apply but they will have to mention the result stating pass on the date mentioned by the organization.
  • Candidates will have to present the proof of passing their graduation or having the graduation degree as pass as per the deadline stipulated by the bank
  • Aspirants who have pursued an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure about the date of passing should be as per the date bounded by the organizing authority.
  • Candidates with the degree of Chartered Accountant are also eligible to apply for the SBI PO recruitment process.

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2023. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.12.2023. Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant would also be eligibl 

How to calculate the percentage?

Candidates must make sure that they are filling the application form according to SBI PO percentage criteria as marks will be considered according to this only.

  • The candidature will be cancelled if the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/Institute is not by the date mentioned by the bank. The result of any examination posted on the website of the University/Institute will be taken as the final date of passing that exam or semester.
  • The candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application where CGPA/ OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into the percentage and indicated in the online application.
  • If called for the interview, an aspirant will have to show the original certificate issued under the concerned authority stating the norms of the university regarding the conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate
  • Calculation of Percentage: The percentage will be calculated by the marks arrived in the mark sheet and dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks into all the subjects irrespective of honors/optional/additional optional subject, if any. Marks obtained in a fraction of percentage will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.
RESERVATION FOR PERSONS WITH BENCHMARK DISABILITY (PwBD):

There will be a 4% horizontal reservation for the people with Benchmark Disabilities.

The SBI PO Pattern for the Prelims and the Mains Exam is almost the same. There is only a slight change in the Mains Section with two extra sections added i.e. General and Banking Awareness. However, the level of difficulty of the SBI PO Mains Paper is a little higher than the Prelims.

Highlights of SBI PO Prelims Exam

The following points are the highlights of the SBI PO Prelims Exam:

  1. There will be three sections.
  2. Category wise merit list will be drawn based on the aggregate marks scored in the Preliminary Exam.
  3. There will be no sectional cut-off. However, there will be an overall cut off.
  4. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Phase-II: SBI PO Main Examination: (Pattern)

Candidates meeting the required Cut off in SBI Prelims will be eligible to appear for the Mains Exam. The syllabus for SBI PO Mains is quite similar to the IBPS PO Exam. There is only a slight change in the Mains Section with two extra sections being added i.e. General and Banking Awareness and a Descriptive Test and the duration of the test will be 3 hours.

The Descriptive Test has a duration of 30 minutes with a score of 50 marks. This test is conducted to test the writing skills of candidates via Letter Writing & Essay Writing.

Highlights of SBI PO Mains Exam

The following points are the highlights of the SBI PO Mains Exam

  1. All the questions will be objective in nature.
  2. This Mains paper will have four sections of a total of 200 marks.
  3. The duration of the SBI PO Mains Exam will be 3 hours.
  4. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.
  5. There will be no sectional cut off. There will be only an overall cut off.
  6. There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect Multiple Choice Question.
  7. The Descriptive Paper of 50 marks is compulsory to attempt

Note: Descriptive paper of a candidate will be checked only if they qualify in the Objective test as per the qualifying marks decided by the Bank.

Phase-III: Psychometric Test: 
SBI PO Interview

Candidates who will qualify for both the Objective test and Description Test of SBI PO will be eligible to appear for Group Exercise and Personal Interview.

  • Group Discussion consists of 20 marks.
  • The Personal Interview is of 30 marks.
  • The final score will be the sum of SBI PO Main and Group Discussion and Interview.
  • The OBC aspirants, who will clear Group Discussion and interview under the ‘OBC’ category, will need to submit the OBC certificate, containing the ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ clause. 
  • The result will be published on SBI official website at https://www.sbi.co.in/careers

The Bank may conduct Psychometric test for personality profiling, of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase-III. Finding of the test may be placed before the Interview panel for having a through perspective on the candidates

SBI PO Main Cut Off 2023

SBI PO Mains Result 2023 has been released on its official website sbi.co.in/web/careers/. And shortlisted candidates eligible for Phase – III (Psychometric Test), SBI PO Psychometric Test will be conducted from 16.01.2024 and Personal Interview will be conducted from 24 Jan To 30 Jan 2024. SBI PO final cut-off marks will be prepared from the combined marks of Main Exam and Interview. We will update SBI PO Final Cut Off 2023 soon.
